Are you 100% satisfied with how things are going in your life?

If you answered “NO” to any of these 3 questions, then your life is about to change as we speak!

There are two things I want you to understand before we dive into how you can take back control of your life.

1. Life is like a roller coaster!

There are ups, and there are downs, there are big drops and major highs, but the overall experience makes one heck of a ride.

2. Life is quite unpredictable!

You never know what life might through your way, one day you are on cloud 9 and the next day everything is down in the gutters.

I want you to accept these two concepts about life because when you do then you can handle life’s PMS moments and come out on the other side stronger and more empowered.

Remember, life always has the upper hand, but that doesn’t mean you are powerless.

There are things that you can do that will make you feel more empowered and in charge, as well as, get you in the driver seat of your life!

In this article, I will share with you 7 things that can help you take control back of your life whenever life leaves you beaten and make you question every fiber of your being.

You are not here to question your existence, you are here to live a life of fulfillment and satisfaction and my goal today is to move you closer to that outcome.

So let’s dive right into the 7 things that you can implement in your life starting today.

1. Be the man/women in charge

The first step towards taking control back of your life is to claim it.

Repeat after me:

“I am in charge of my life!”

“I am the one in control!”

“Life might throw me a curveball, but I will always persevere and never play the victim role.”

When you put yourself in charge of your life, it’s an immediate empowerment move on your end.

Let’s face it, if you are not ganna be in charge of your life, then someone else will, and that’s no fun.

2. Start loving yourself

When life get tough, the first thing most people do is starting to blame themselves and then everything and everyone around them.

I don’t want you to be like that!

Always know that you are doing the BEST that you can do in any given situation and that you are here to fulfill your destiny.

Beating yourself up is not ganna change the situation and is not ganna make you feel empowered.

Also, the last thing you want to do when you are down is to be the one who keep you down.

I know sometimes things seem dire and it feels like there is no way out but trust me there is always a way.

Your job is to have faith that things will work out for you!

So love yourself when times are tough, you might be the only one on your side during a tough time!

3. Focus on what makes you happy

As a life-coach, I have heard it and seen it all.

People always ask me questions like:

My life is shitty, how can I be happy? Or I am so stressed out; happiness is the last thing on my mind or happiness? there is no way I can be happy in my situation!

You know what my answer is?

Be happy NOW! Because if you need the circumstances to the change, the kids to move out, the boss to be in a better mood, etc. then you’ll always be unhappy.

The reason I say focus on what make you happy when your life is not too good is taht the mere thought of happiness can be the seed that shift and change your situation.

When life gets tough and I feel powerless, I focus on things that I can control. Things that bring me joy and that I can do despite how tough life is at that time.

So, what brings you joy and make you smile?

It doesn’t have to be something major it could something as simple as watching your favorite TV program or simply going on a walk in your favorite park.

It’s so important to stay positive during the hard times, so don’t fall into the trap of waiting for things to change to be happy!

4. Trust your gut

When life gets tough and you feel powerless, that’s when you want to go within and start to listen to your inner wisdom.

You, I and everyone in this world, have an inner sense that guides us all the times, but as we started growing, we started losing touch with this wise guide.

It’s never too late to reconnect!

A first step would be to rekindle your relationship with your inner wisdom.

5. Learn how to say “No.”

This is such a powerful move to take back control in your life.

Society has conditioned us to become “YES” men and women.

We are constantly bombarded by projects, tasks, things to do that someone is asking to assist with that make us feel helpless and unempowered.

So learn the art of saying “NO” without having to explain yourself.

Don’t get me wrong; I am all about helping others and taking one for the team, but if you find yourself constantly in situations where you are the one left with the feeling of unease and resentment then it might be that you are a “YES” man or woman, and you need to learn how to say “NO.”

I will write an entire article about how to learn to say “no.” without having to explain yourself, so stay tuned for a future article.

6. Plan, prioritize and take action

The best way to feel in control is to plan things out, so you are not surprised when things show up.

Now, leave some room for flexibility because being rigid is never a good thing.

Prioritizing is another amazing tool to utilize when you want to take control back of your life.

Plan things out, then see what tasks need to be done and prioritize them according to their importance.

One you have your plan mapped out and your priority list in place, then its time for action!

Yup, it’s that simple!

7. Never stop growing

Last but not least, a great way to stay ahead of life’s curve balls is to have a growth mindset.

You are here to learn new things, experience new places, and try new activities.

So keep an open mind and never stop growing!

Push yourself outside of your comfort zone, ALWAYS.

Life is full of wonders for those who are open to trying them.

Here you have it my friends, 7 life-changing techniques that can help you take control back and take the driver seat of your own ride.

No more life happening to you, you are making life happen instead.

When you use these 7 techniques, you are giving yourself the power to be in charge, you are allowing yourself to say “I AM THE BOSS.” and you should be the boss!

So, use these techniques and let empowerment be your path of living!

Till we speak again, take control back, don’t let things happen to you, let things happen because of you!
